AutonoMOUSE Self-Driving Cars Coming to Disney World

Self-Driving Cars coming to Disney World

The future is here at Disney World with the addition of self-driving cars on property. Disney Transportation will be rolling out their AutonoMOUSE self-driving car service over the next few months and will be able to take you to any resort or theme park at Walt Disney World.

First look at new Disney World self-driving cars

Disney has entered a partnership with Tesla, one of the leading electric and self driving car companies in the world to bring this project to life. Guests will be able to use their My Disney Experience (MDE) app to book an AutonoMOUSE self-driving car to take them to their destination.

This new feature will act very much like Lyft or Uber. Guests will pull up the MDE app and navigate to the AutonoMOUSE section. From there, they will be able to book a ride. These cars will operate on surge pricing, so the more demand, the higher the price. The price will also fluctuate based on the distance you are traveling.

This self-driving service at Disney World will operate in many ways like the Minnie Vans, except in these cars, there will be no drivers. We expect any given ride to cost anywhere from $15-25 depending on the demand. As an added benefit, you will be dropped off right at the front gate of every theme park, closer than the buses drop guests off.

This is a big technological advancement for Disney. We wonder if this will bring an end to the Minnie Van service, despite just bringing it back a few weeks ago. We are certainly excited to take a trip in one of these AutonoMOUSE self-driving cars and will share our experience when we do so.
