Disney Removing The Drops From Splash Mountain

Disney is removing the drops from Splash Mountain when it reopens

Not long ago, Disney made the shocking and Disappointing announcement that Splash Mountain would close and be replaced with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Clearly, this had many people upset. Luckily, Splash Mountain will move to Universal Studios, which we reported here. Now, Splash Mountain is getting even more boring with Disney removing all of the drops on the ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to replace Splash Mountain. The ride will be themed around Tiana’s food. Many expected the ride to be basically the same as Splash Mountain. It would use the same logs, follow the same track, and be just as thrilling. However, in a surprising announcement, we learned that’s not the case. In fact, the ride will lose its entire thrill factor with the removal of all of the drops on the ride.

Splash Mountain Losing The Drops at Disney

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently under construction to replace Splash Mountain. As the construction progresses, we are learning that all of the drops on the ride are being removed. This is a shock to many people as it takes out a lot of the fun of the ride. Nothing beats the 55-foot plunge into the Briar patch on Splash Mountain. Unfortunately, the ride is losing that fun drop.

In fact, all of the drops on the ride will be removed. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will essentially become a slow-moving boat ride like it’s a small world or Na’vi River Journey. Both of these rides are interesting, but far from thrilling. While the scenery and music on both of the rides are great, the rides themselves aren’t very fun or exciting. This is where Splash Mountain was different. It was family-friendly, yet had thrilling drops.

Why is Disney removing the drops from the new ride? This is a way to increase the appeal of the ride. Disney wants to give Tiana’s Bayou Adventure a fresh face-lift and appeal to a younger audience. They expect the music and the story to be so entertaining that people don’t even miss the drops. Also, removing the drops will hopefully get people to stop comparing it to Splash Mountain and reduce the negative sentiments towards the new ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a Let Down

We asked a lot of people for their reaction to this news and it was overwhelmingly negative. In fact, many stated that they weren’t happy with this decision. They were looking forward to seeing what Disney was going to do to Splash Mountain with the retheme, with hopes that it would be as fun as Splash Mountian, however, it isn’t looking that way.

Of course, there are some people who support this direction for the ride. In fact, they think that leveling it off will be more fun for the family. Not only will the young kids get to go on it, but so will pregnant women, and old folks. This makes it a far more “inclusive” ride, which fits with the idea behind the new Tiana ride.

Many people are wondering if Disney is going to start dumbing down other rides. We already reported here on how the Tower of Terror will no longer be a thrill ride. A lot of people are concerned that this is a continuing trend with Disney rides. They worry that they won’t be as fun as they once used to. Only time will tell if there will be more changes like this to Disney rides in the future.

This is untrue, but that fact is buried at the bottom of the article. Why try to trick people? This is the worst kind of click bait.
