Every industry is experiencing supply chain disruptions. Disney is no exception to these disruptions. They have experienced issues getting parts for attractions as well as inventory in their stores. However, they are having a new issue with the supply chain. Kilimanjaro Safaris is struggling to add animals to the attractions. The attraction has experienced a surge in popularity recently, which led Disney to increase the number of animals in the attraction. Unfortunately they are having issues actually getting these animals to the attraction.
Disney is taking an interesting approach to this animal shortage. Starting this week, they will have cast members out in Kilimanjaro Safaris dressed as animals. We have yet to see the costumes they will be wearing, however, in a statement from Disney, they said “you won’t be able to tell the difference between the cast members and the real animals.”
We will be visiting Animal Kingdom this week to ride the Safari, keeping an eye out for these new “animals”. We will take photos and share them with you. We certainly have our doubts on how lifelike these costumes will be, but we are interested to find out.
