More than 100 squatters legally take over Disneyland. Essentially the squatters sit down in the Disney parks and claim it as their own. When Disney calls the police, there is nothing they can do.
This is because the squatters have legal protection in the state of California and they cannot be evicted or removed by police. That means that anyone who is a squatter at Disneyland essentially lives in the parks and has a lifetime pass.
While they still need to pay for food and souvenirs there, they don’t need to worry about having park tickets to get in. These squatters are living in and around the Disney parks in California. We saw them sleeping inside the train station, in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and even in Club 33.
This is much worse than Disneyland allowing homeless people into their parks, which we reported on here. With the law being in favor of squatters, Disney and its guests aren’t happy. Each day more people are squatting in Disneyland, which is becoming unsustainable.
In fact, top legal experts even worry that the squatters will obtain legal ownership of Disneyland if things don’t change soon. Many find this worse than Governor DeSantis sending migrants to Disney World.
Unless the squatter laws change anytime soon, this could be a real problem. Luckily for Disney World, the state of Florida is being proactive and taking away squatters’ rights.
