Disney World has some of the best roller coasters in the world. From The Barnstormer to Expedition Everest to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. In fact, Disney has a wide variety of coasters that appeal to all ages, young and old. However, Disney World is set to get a brand-new roller coaster and fans are excited. “The Coolest Coaster Ever”, which is the roller coaster from Phineas and Ferb is coming to Disney World.
Tron Lightcycle is the last roller coaster to be built at Disney World. In fact, it opened earlier this year. The next most recent is Slinky Dog Dash, followed by Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which was built in 2014. Despite that ride opening only 9 years ago, it’s already set for a retheme to Encanto, which we reported here. Now, Hollywood Studios is in need of a new roller coaster, that isn’t just a retheme like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to High School Musical. That’s where the new Phineas and Ferb Roller Coaster comes into play and this one will be cool.
The Coolest Coaster Ever!
The new roller coaster coming to Disney World will be named “The Coolest Coaster Ever” and is based on the roller coaster from Phineas and Ferb. As a refresher, in the first-ever episode of Phineas and Ferb, the boys build a roller coaster in their backyard and across the city. The roller coaster they build is truly amazing. However, the question everyone asked as soon as that episode aired is when will they build it at Disney World. The time is now.
However, if you can’t wait, Disney is selling build-your-own at-home roller coaster kits, which you can read about here. This new Phineas and Ferb roller coaster will actually be built around Hollywood Studios. That’s right, the ride will start in Animation Courtyard. Then, the track will make its way all around Hollywood Studios above buildings and around different areas of the park. This will be the first-ever Disney roller coaster to weave throughout a park and will be the longest Disney roller coaster.
The idea of this roller coaster going through the park makes sense since the roller coaster in Phineas and Ferb makes its way around the city of Danville, which is where they live. Disney is using that as inspiration. The Coolest Coaster Ever will weave through Toy Story Land, around Tower of Terror/Dr. Doofenshmirtz Drop-Inator, and even travel all the way back by Muppet Vision 3-D, eventually making its way back to Animation Courtyard where it started.
Additional Details on Phineas and Ferb Roller Coaster
The Phineas and Ferb Roller Coaster will have a similar intensity as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. It will include a steep incline to start the ride and a few loops. Also, the coaster will go through a mud pit and car wash, like in the show. However, it will not be nearly as intense as the roller coaster in Phineas and Ferb for obvious reasons.
There is no set date for the opening of The Coolest Coaster Ever yet. However, we expect construction to break ground in the next few years. It’s likely Disney will try to time the opening of the Phineas and Ferb roller coaster with the opening of the Dr. Doofenshmirtz Drop-Inator, replacing the Tower of Terror, which we reported on here. It’s also not clear if Disney will be closing parts of the park while they build this roller coaster because it will be built in areas where guests walk around.
Overall, people are excited about this Phineas and Ferb roller coaster. It will truly be the coolest coaster ever as it weaves around Hollywood Studios and will be one of the longest roller coasters in the world. It’s just amazing Disney waited this long to build this roller coaster but makes sense with the reboot of Phineas and Ferb coming soon.
