Breaking news, Splash Mountain is returning to Disney World. It will be built where Tom Sawyer Island currently is.
According to an internal source, the decision to bring Splash Mountain back was an easy one. It was one of the most popular rides of all time. Meanwhile, the replacement, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is struggling to stay relevant and draw long lines.
However, Disney doesn’t want to retheme Tiana’s back to Splash Mountain. That will look like they are pandering to the non-woke crowd, and people will see that as a big loss for Disney. Instead, they will build a second Splash Mountain near the current one, on Tom Sawyer Island.
This is a scenario where everyone wins. Disney gets to save face and keep Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Also, guests are happy that a fan-favorite ride is finally returning to the Magic Kingdom.
The new Splash Mountain will be an exact replica of the original one, even using a lot of the parts from the ride, which Disney saved. Overall, people are happy about this decision. They are excited to see one of the all-time most popular rides return.
However, a few people are very upset. They have taken to Bluesky to rage against Splash Mountain. Despite their best efforts, Disney plans to move forward with adding a second Splash Mountain to Disney World.
