Cinderella Castle is being dismantled for Hurricane Milton. Disney will bring in a construction crew to deconstruct the entire castle overnight.
There is a longstanding rumor that Cinderella Castle can be taken apart for hurricanes. It continues to be debunked as not a fact since Disney has never done it. However, an internal source has just confirmed to us that Cinderella Castle was designed to be dismantled in case of a huge hurricane.
There just hasn’t been a hurricane large enough to warrant taking down the castle. Hurricane Milton is extremely strong and at this point, Disney has two choices. Risk losing Cinderella Caslte in the storm or take it down before the storm hits.
While Disney is testing their hurricane defense system, which we reported on here, there is no guarantees that it will be successful, which is why they are still taking down the castle. What surprises most people is the castle can be removed in one night. This is thanks to the genius design when it was being built and the anticipation of an event like this.
The good news is once the hurricane passes, Disney will be able to completely reconstruct it within three days. Our source mentioned that the castle is harder to put up than it is to take down.
