Disney World implements controversial white man tax. This new tax will apply only to white men over the age of 18 years old.
Essentially, if you fall into that group of people, you will be charged and extra 18% on all purchases at Disney World. This includes but is not limited to, hotels, tickets, merchandise (buy our Waiting in Line Sucks shirt here), food, drinks, and more.
This is to combat the wage gap and pay inequalities in the United States. If you are purchasing anything digitally, your race and gender are linked to your My Disney Experience app, allowing Disney to easily add the tax.
In fact, this is similar to their tax based on political affiliation, which we reported on here. Meanwhile, if you are in a park and a Disney Cast Member identifies you as a white male, you will be charged the additional 18% white man tax.
Because of this, many men are booking trips using their wife’s account. They are also having their wife make purchases at Disney stores and restaurants. However, some men would rather pay the 18% tax than risk their wives spending more money on things they don’t need.
That could end up costing the husband more than the 18% tax would in the first place. The new Disney white man tax is causing quite a stir and creating a lot of controversy.
