Disney World is now requiring leashes on kids under 13. In order to enter Disney World, anyone who is under 13 years old will be required to wear a leash.

When you scan your MagicBand to enter a Disney theme park, if your kids are younger than 13, a note will pop up on the Cast Member’s iPad. If they are wearing a leash, the Cast Member will press a button to admit them.

However, if they are not, they will reject your entry. As soon as you leash your kid up, they can rescan their MagicBand and be admitted to the park. Disney is doing this because there is a rise in kids getting lost in their parks.
There is also an increase in younger kids being disruptive to other guests by saying things like six-seven, which is now a banned word there. However, as you might imagine, people are not happy about this new rule.
First off, many people think it should be up to the parents if they want to put their kid on a leash inside Disney World. Second, if it is required, the age for this should be much lower.
Many people don’t think kids who are older than 8 years old need to be on a leash, especially not kids over 10. The good news is, Disney will sell Disney-themed leashes in their parks in a variety of sizes.
So if someone forgets theirs or doesn’t have it, they will be able to buy a Disney one for only $50. However, many people are wondering if this is actually just a way for Disney to sell more merchandise.
