Human-powered monorails are coming to Disney World. They will call it the Schweeb, and it will replace their existing monorails.

That means if you want to ride the monorail, you will have to pedal in order to get it to move. This will require a lot of physical effort by the passengers. Luckily, each Schweeb will hold up to 6 passengers, so it won’t be all on one person to pedal.

Disney is doing this to be more environmentally friendly. On top of that, it promotes an active and healthy culture. Guests will be able to burn a lot of calories while pedaling to their next destination.
However, not everyone is excited about these updates to the monorail. Many people admit that America is very unhealthy and also want to be more environmentally friendly, but they don’t want this.
This makes sense, though, as the distance from the Magic Kingdom to EPCOT on the monorail is multiple miles. That requires a lot of pedaling, and people are at Disney to relax, not exercise.
The human-powered monorails are already creating a lot of concern, however, Disney hopes that once they are implemented, people will get used to them. This is better than Disney completely removing the monorails, which we reported on here.
