This announcement comes after the incredibly strong launch of Inside Out 2. In this new ride, Bing Bong will take riders through Riley’s imagination on her birthday. However, not everything goes to plan. Throughout the ride, guests will encounter the main emotions from Inside Out: Anger, Fear, Sadness, Disgust, and Joy.

The ride will start out as a day of Joy, but when no one shows up to her birthday party, things go south. Guests will watch Anger and Sadness take over Riley. On top of that, when her mom makes the wrong meal, Disgust kicks in. As guests near the end of the ride, Riley becomes afraid of getting older.

Eventually, Joy returns when Riley finds out that her parents were planning a surprise party for her at an amusement park. The ride will use the existing track but will be a complete retheme. Many guests are saddened by this announcement because Journey Into Imagination With Figment is closing permanently and Figment will be going away.

This is similar to the Skibidi Toilet Ride replacing Guardians of the Galaxy, which we reported on here. Disney is doing this because Inside Out 2 is on track to be one of the best Disney/Pixar movies in the past 10 years. In fact, people are already asking for an Inside Out 3 and there are discussions internally about what that new film might be like.
