Trump implements tariffs on EPCOT World Showcase. Now, all countries in EPCOT will be required to pay additional taxes on all of their sales.
The tariffs implemented on the EPCOT countries will align with their respective country. For example, the China pavilion will need to pay the US Government a 54% tax on all sales, including food, drinks, and merchandise.
Meanwhile, the UK Pavilion will need to pay a 20% tariff. Luckily, purchases at the United States Pavilion will not have a tariff to pay. This includes the African American Pavilion when it opens, which we reported on here.
According to official reports, the United States could make $500 million alone on these EPCOT World Showcase tariffs. Top economic experts are calling this one of the smartest moves yet in this new tariff regime.
However, Disney is planning to raise their price on all of the items that are being tariffed. That means that food, drinks, and merchandise are going to be more expensive at EPCOT. Because of this, many people plan to spend more money at the American Pavilion to avoid the price hikes.
This is exactly what President Trump wanted to happen. The goal is to have people spend more money on American goods. He sees Disney World as a projection of what will happen in the real world.
