Breaking news, Disneyland is officially coming to Russia. This new theme park will be named Disneyland Russia and will be located in Moscow.
This will be the 7th Disney resort across the globe. Disneyland Russia will be one park, much like Shanghai Disneyland. The park will be modeled after the Disney parks around the world, with many familiar lands, such as Fantasyland and Tomorrowland as well as new areas like Mickey Street, Port of Adventure, and more. The center castle will be Sleeping Beauty Castle, but will more closely resemble the Kremlin. This is to stay close to Russian culture.
Many of the rides there will be similar to rides that exist around the world. Some rides that are confirmed so far are Splash Mountain, which surprises most people. Also, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which will be themed to Hannah Montana, who is huge in Russia. On top of that, Grizzly River Run, Astro Blasters, Tron Lightcycle (which will only take 12 years to build), and much more.
The food will be mostly traditional Russian dishes and they will also serve vodka at every restaurant. The idea behind building a Disneyland in Russia is to bridge the gap between the US and the USSR.
With all of the tension in the world, Disney thinks putting a theme park there will help ease tensions between the two countries. We expect many more details to come out about Disneyland Russia over the next few months. The project is set to start in a few years and will be done by 2030. It’s expected to be the most advanced Disney theme park in the world.
