Breaking news, Disney World is closing due to a COVID outbreak. According to the CDC, more than 15 people infected by COVID-19 have been directly connected to visiting Disney World last week.
Because of this, Disney has made the tough decision to close indefinitely for the second time due to COVID. The first time, of course, was back in 2020, when COVID was popular and trendy.
This news comes as a surprise for a few reasons. First off, it’s 2025, and most people have forgotten about COVID completely. They are surprised that people are still testing for the infection in the first place.
Second, Disney requires vaccinations, which we reported on here. Third, 15 cases out of the hundreds of thousands of people who visit there in a week is so low, it shouldn’t warrant a closing. However, Disney is doing this in an effort to be cautious because of what happened in 2020.
This breaking news of Disney World has many people worried that the government is going to crack down again and force people to stay at home. There is no expected set date for Disney to reopen.
Many people are speculating it will be closed for 10 days to slow the curve, which turned into about two years last time. This news has many people panicking and running to grocery stores to stock up.
