Breaking news, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is closing permanently. This announcement comes only days after the initial Cast Member previews.
The reports from riders are so negative and there is so much backlash around the retheme that Disney is closing the ride permanently. In fact, according to a new poll, 9 out of 10 Disney fans prefer Splash Mountain over Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
That poll is based on people who have actually ridden the new ride. This will be the first-ever Disney ride to have previews and never open to the public. It’s clearly an expensive mistake by Disney, however many people saw this coming.
So far there are a few potential candidates to replace Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Many people are hoping that Moana’s Epic Voyage takes its place, which we reported on here. Others are hoping that Disney retheme it back to Splash Mountain, a well-known and well-loved ride. In fact, the majority of Disney fans want the ride to return to Splash Mountain.
A retheme back to Splash Mountain is looking most likely. According to an internal source, Disney kept most of the Splash Mountain props, in case of emergency. This shows us that Disney was expecting Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to be a failure and it was. This is by far the biggest failure for the Walt Disney Company. They tried to force a change to please a small group of people and it backfired.

Sorry, Brendan. The ride may not close permanently, but make no mistake…it is an unmitigated disaster. Everything about this adds up to one big mountain of egg on Disney’s face. This ride, if it ever works, will NEVER approach the level of popularity and enthusiasm amongst actual guests as Splash Mountain did. Disney has lost the script from top to bottom. They can no longer do ANY of the things that made Disney what it was. It has inarguably fallen into the hands of lesser and incompetent stewards.
I completely agree with Walt’s Ghost. That ride has no story line, it was not good at all and they just threw it together to get an agenda across… splash mountain should come back because it was a way better ride and more TRUE Disney fans love that ride way more than Tiana’s.!
