Disney Cast Members can now point with their middle fingers. Prior to this, Disney employees were told to use their index and middle fingers to point or their entire hand.

They were not allowed to point with only their index finger because it is considered rude in certain cultures around the world. However, now Disney Cast Members can point to things using just their middle finger.
The idea behind this is to give their employees more freedom. We recently saw this with Disney allowing cast members to show tattoos, which had been banned up until a few years ago. Now, pointing with a middle finger is no longer taboo at Disney. However, people are not happy with this decision.
The main argument against it is that pointing with your middle finger is considered extremely disrespectful in America. On top of that, Disney is apparently a place for families, with kids.
Many parents are complaining that having Cast Members point with their middle fingers around kids is very problematic. They also point out that using an index finger is considered rude in other cultures, but it’s now okay to use a middle finger, which is rude in the US.
However, others are all for this saying that the Disney employees are adults and they can point with whatever finger they want. Overall, people are not happy with this decision and are baffled by it.
