The statement goes on, “It will follow a similar storyline as the original movie, with a few unique plot twists, including the death of a beloved character. However, we are not going to reveal who that is yet. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.”

“On top of that, the new live-action Cars will have an amazing supporting cast, including Shane Gillis, who will voice Lightning McQueen. Tow Mater will be voiced by Dave Chapelle, meanwhile, Morgan Freeman will voice Doc Hudson. This is just a small part of an incredible cast.”

The live-action Cars movie is set to be released in 2027. This makes even more sense why Disney is partnering with NASCAR for the real-life Piston Cup, which we reported on here. An internal source confirmed that the movie will have a heavy mix of real shots as well as CGI, much like the live-action Lion King movie.

Overall, fans are excited for this new movie. They see a few ways that Pixar can mess up this movie, like they did with Snow White. However, there are mixed reactions to the cast, with many people wishing it was the original cast.
