Pixar announces Finding Chemo, their saddest movie ever. This new animated film follows Alex, a 10-year-old boy who is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on the first day of summer vacation.

What was going to be the best summer ever quickly turns to the worst summer ever. As he begins chemotherapy, Alex’s internal world transforms into a whimsical underwater universe. His white blood cells are fish, his medication is a wisecracking stingray, and cancer cells take the form of a creepy octopus voiced by Bill Hader.

This will have a similar style and approach to the successful franchise, Inside Out. The movie hopes to put a light and fun twist on the difficulties of having cancer. The goal is to be uplifting, even through the darkest and hardest times.
According to an internal source, this will be Pixar’s saddest movie ever, beating out Toy Story 5 and Up. Despite the sadness and touchy topic, there will still be lots to laugh about and enjoy.
Finding Chemo is set to hit theaters in summer 2026 and will be accompanied by a 5-minute short called Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow about a sentient wig. So far, the reaction to this new movie is very negative.
People are not happy that Pixar is going to make a movie about a kid with cancer. However, others want to give it a chance and see how it will be.
