Disney World is now accepting food stamps for payment. That’s right, if you qualify for SNAP benefits, you can purchase Mickey Pretzels, Dole Whips, Joffrey’s Coffee, drinks at EPCOT, and more with your food stamps.

However, as expected, using food stamps for soda at Disney World is banned. It’s worth noting that these food stamps will work at the Hooters inside Disney World, which we reported on here. This new Disney Dining Plan policy is designed to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment.

According to an official statement, “Disney is always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience. We want to ensure that all visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of Disney, including access to meals and snacks during their visit.”
Disney understands that the cost of food and drinks at their parks can be expensive for lower-income families. Allowing people who qualify for food stamps to use them at Disney World helps make their trip more affordable.
So far, there are mixed reactions to this new rule. Many people on food stamps are excited that they can finally use them inside Disney World. They state that $20 per person per meal is out of hand, but this makes the trip more affordable.
Meanwhile, other people are baffled by this announcement. They are surprised that there is enough demand for using food stamps at Disney World to warrant this new policy.

I find it reprehensible that food stamps can be used at Disney. Guess what $20.00 per meal is a lot for me. I’m not on food stamps, or welfare. I am retired on a fixed income, so I can’t afford to go to Disney!!!!
