According to an internal source, this is a limited-time promotion to get more people in the parks. During this promotion, you will be able to buy up to five $1 tickets, per person. So if you have a family of four, you could get 20 Disney World park tickets for only $20.
However, the downside is that these tickets can only be used on select days throughout the year. For example, you will be able to use these tickets during the first and second week of September and the third and fourth week of January. You also need to stay in a Disney World resort in order to take advantage of this deal.
They are also doing this to get more people to stay in their hotels during these downtimes. This is actually a really smart move by Disney. Offering $1 park tickets is a great way to get people to book Disney World vacations, especially during their least busy seasons.
They know a lot of people will take advantage of these cheap tickets, but will still have to shell out $5,000 or more for their Disney hotel, food, drinks, and anything else they buy on their trip. This really just comes down to good marketing by Disney as a way to make more sales during their slowest times of the year.
