Finding Nemo is one of the most loved Disney films of all time. In fact, it has a spectacular 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie has an incredible storyline, which captivates audience members of all ages. The movie is both charming and touching. However, we just learned the sad news that Crush, the turtle from Finding Nemo, has died.
As a reminder, Crush is a sea turtle who speaks like a surfer dude. He and his son Squirt travel through the EAC and help Marlin and Dory find Nemo, who is lost. Crush is one of the most lovable characters in the entire movie, despite only being on screen for a few minutes. His personality and lines like, “Cause we were like, “woaaaah.”, and I was like, “woaaaah.” and you were like, “woaaahh” make him such a great character. This is why his death is so sad to so many.
Mourning the Loss of Crush
Crush died at the age of 150 years old. In fact, Marlin asks Crush how old he is. Crush replies, “150, dude, and still young!” Clearly, he didn’t feel his age, however, unfortunately, he passed away at the impressive age of 150 years old. This is fascinating considering most sea turtles only live 50-100 years. But many are questioning his death, which we will get to shortly.
Many people are mourning the loss of Crush from Finding Nemo. It’s not until the death of someone that you truly recognize how important they were. In fact, few people realize how much of an impact Crush had on Disney films and theme parks. Crush was in six total Disney films. That’s right, he was in Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. However, he also made a cameo in WALL-E, Toy Story 3, The Good Dinosaur, and Moana. Few Disney characters, especially “minor” characters make this many appearances.
Not only was Crush in a lot of movies, but he also has many more appearances. He is in six different Disney video games. Also, he also has ties to 11 different attractions across all Disney theme parks, including his own attraction named Crush’s Coaster in Disneyland Paris. Clearly, Crush had an incredible impact on Disney guests and fans, making his death even more sad and disappointing. However, many are asking how he died.
Mysterious Death of Crush from Finding Nemo
The death of Crush has shocked the world and has many people asking how he died. According to Disney, it’s from natural causes, however, many people are skeptical. People are suggesting that with the energy Crush had, there is no way he just died of natural causes. Sure, he was 150 years old, however, he didn’t have any obvious health problems nor did he appear to be on the brink of death. So what do people think happened?
Many people are suggesting that Disney intentionally put Crush down so they can move on to bigger and better projects. As we noted, Crush is crucial to the Disney parks, however, he is getting stale. Yes, people like him, but Disney has far greater IP they want to bring into their theme parks. For example, bald Rapunzel. Crush’s death gives Disney the perfect opportunity to close Turtle Talk with Crush and make way for a brand-new attraction.
In fact, as of today, Turtle Talk with Crush is closed indefinitely. This makes sense because Crush is now dead. Many are expecting this temporary closure to become permanent. Disney will then replace Turtle Talk with Crush with a different attraction. We speculate Disney will tear down the entire Seas pavilion with this news and replace it with a brand new Moana ride. While this is just speculation, it seems extremely likely given recent moves by Disney.
