Did you know that Mickey Mouse’s middle name is Adolf? Despite a harmless story, Disney has done everything they can to erase this fact from history.
Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse in 1928 and gave him the full name of Mickey Adolf Mouse. At the time, people didn’t think much of the name, as Adolf was a popular and respected name in Germany and Northern Europe during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Walt Disney had strong German and European roots, so this was not an unusual choice. However, just 5 years later, a man named Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany, and we all know the tragedies that unfolded from that.
Because of this, the Walt Disney Company rushed to do everything they could to erase Mickey’s middle name from history, as they didn’t want it to be connected to Adolf Hitler. They erased all comics and cartoons that referenced his full name.
There were only a few of them, including one cartoon that showed his driver’s license, which said Mickey Adolf Mouse on it. However, this cartoon has been buried in history, and only a few people remember seeing it back when it originally debuted in 1929.
All internal documents omit Mickey Mouse’s middle name; however, true history buffs know that Mickey Mouse actually has a very controversial middle name. This is just an unfortunate happening for the Walt Disney Company as they had no idea the name would be so evil just 5 years later.
